BIOGRAPHY

Géraldine Clément began her flute studies at the age of 6 in Brussels. Few years later she entered the Children's Choir then the Youth Choir of La Monnaie Royal Opera House in Brussels and took part in many opera productions, CD recordings, tours and concerts. Meanwhile she studied and performed chamber music, folk music, free improvisation, jazz and baroque flute. 
 

Géraldine performs with orchestra's such as the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), La Monnaie Royal Opera House Orchestra, the Opera of Flanders, Anima Eterna Bruges, Collegium Vocale, Gli Angeli Geneva, Geneva Camerata, the Hulencourt Soloist Chamber Orchestra, the Ensemble Sturm und Klang, Les Métamorphoses, Die Kölner Akademie, le Concert d'Anvers... She performed concertos of Mozart (C major and D major), CPE Bach (D minor), Bloch (for flute and viola) and Vivaldi (La Notte). 

She is the flautist of the Duo Eidos with pianist Thomas Waelbroeck and of the Tmesis Ensemble (flute, violin, clarinet, cello and piano), laureate of Supernova Chamber Music Competition 2016 and Residency Ensemble of the Koninklijk Conservatoium Brussel in 2016-2017. She co-founded the new Area Dolce ensemble performing on historical instruments. 

 

She is laureate of numerous competitions such as Dexia Classics 2008 (1st prizes in flute and chamber music), the Dutch International Flute Competition for bachelor students in 2012 (2d prize) and for master students in 2015 (1st prize). In 2012 Géraldine got offered the « Young Talent » Scholarship by Hulencourt Art Project, the Mathilde Horlait-Dapsens Scholarship in 2015 and the Ingeborg Köberle Prijs in 2018. 

Géraldine studied the flute at the Koninklijke Conservatoria of Ghent and Brussels, respectively with Myriam Graulus and Carlos Bruneel before graduating in 2015 Magna cum Laude. After a Concert Musicus Program with Carlos Bruneel, she graduated in 2019 Magna cum Laude on the baroque flute from the class of Frank Theuns. She also owns a Master degree in music pedagogy from the Conservatoire Royal de Liège. 


Curious and versatile, she took part in many master classes with Emmanuel Pahud, Juliette Hurel, Philippe Bernold, Mario Caroli, Sir James Galway, Fabrizio Cassol, Michael Schmid, Marc Hantaï...

 

In 2018, Géraldine became a chamber music and piccolo assistant teacher at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels. She is, since 2020, the assistant flute teacher of Carlos Bruneel.
